Customise a frame with Chalk Markers

In this tutorial, we’ll show you how to customise a frame using CHALK Markers – a simple and accessible activity to add a personal touch to your home décor with a message, a pattern or a graphic flourish.

Play with shapes and contrasts to transform an everyday object into a unique creation.

What you’ll need:

- 1 frame

- 1 patterned sheet of paper

- 1 plain white sheet

- 1 glue stick

- Your choice of CHALK Markers

The result? A personalised frame, easy to make and perfect for adding a splash of creativity to your home.

Ready to give your frames a new life?

Step 1: Choose and assemble your background

Start by choosing a colourful pattern that will form the base of your design.

Apply glue to the back of the white sheet, then stick it in the centre of the patterned sheet.

Take your time to align both sheets carefully to create a clean and balanced look. This layered base will give you a neat and structured space to work on your frame’s decoration.

Once assembled, place your background inside the frame, behind the glass.

Step 2: Draw your design

Now for the creative part!

Using your CHALK Markers, draw directly on the glass of the frame, over the white sheet. We went for a mushroom-themed design, but feel free to go with whatever you like – a message, graphic shapes or a little illustration. Use the central white space as your canvas and build your drawing gradually, adjusting lines and details as you go.

The best part about CHALK Markers? You can easily correct your work with a damp cloth before finalising your design!

Step 3: Decorate the frame itself

Still using your CHALK Markers, start decorating the edges of the frame.

You can stick with the same colour palette used in the central design or mix it up for a nice contrast.

Let your creativity run free:

Go for a symmetrical and tidy pattern for a clean, modern look, or try a more spontaneous, freehand decoration for something playful and bold

Little by little, the frame becomes part of the design – and takes your creation to the next level!

And there you go – your custom frame is finished and ready to bring creativity into your space!
