Personalise a metal box with Uni Paint markers
Inside or outside, the permanent Uni Paint oil markers are the kings of personalisation! This time, we’re heading to the kitchen to personalise metal containers, one of the many surfaces compatible with our markers. Coffee, tea, flour... Whatever you put in them, your metal box can become beautiful. Sound good? We’ll explain all the steps below!
Tutorial level: Beginner / Advanced / Expert
For this tutorial, you will need:
- A metal box
- A permanent Uni Paint oil marker (2.2mm-2.8mm tip in white)
- A pattern to copy (ours is available here)
1st step: the materials
For this DIY activity, we’ll be using the multi-surface Uni Paint marker with its colour-fast pigments!
We’ve chosen the classic white with perfect coverage but you can of course choose the colour you want, adapted to how your kitchen is decorated.
For the metal box, you can buy them new but of course you can reuse a container you already have at home.
Finally, if you’re lacking inspiration, we’ve provided a pattern you can copy, nothing too complicated, we promise!
2nd step: What’s in the box?
First step: it’s important to remember what’s in your box, especially if you have several similar ones. So write down what’s inside in your most beautiful handwriting!
Go back over your lines if needed to achieve the desired thickness.
3rd step: a few appropriate doodles
Depending on what you want to keep in this personalised metal box, add some drawings around your text. Mugs, coffee beans... Draw whatever you want to brighten up this item!
4th step: more depth!
In order to make certain designs stand out and create depth, colour a few elements, always with the help of the same white Uni Paint marker, which guarantees optimal opacity in a flash!
5th step: the new star of the kitchen
The tutorial is already finished! Your metal box is ready to take centre stage on our shelf or your counter.
We think that after this, you’ll want to give a makeover to every object around you to give them a new lease of life!
