How would you describe your work?

I mainly work around the world of fauna and flora. I like drawing birds and the patterns of their feathers for example. And I highlight species that are in danger of becoming extinct to express something deeper. Recently I worked with the Uni-Ball and Posca brands for a store presentation display unit and I included a pangolin, anteater and an otter. These are endangered species that evoke this threat.

What about your inspirations?

I’m a great admirer of the work of the illustrator Emmanuelle Houdart. She works around the pattern and circles it in black, which highlights her colours. I’m also a great fan of SupaKitch and Koralie, their patterns and aesthetics, as well as the gesture.

“A pattern is a gesture that I repeat and that makes me feel good. ”

What do you like when you draw with a Signo?

I like the gel aspect of the ink and how it glides over the paper. In terms of texture, it has a very soft and tender side. I like its effect, especially the possibility of mixing classic colours with more original metallic and glitter ones. It lets me create more elaborate shades and hues.

What surface do you like to draw on?

Paper, no hesitation. This is the material that I use most. I start my drawing with a pencil then I systematically ink the outlines in black with the Uni PIN felt-tip pen. I use a Signo to add colour inside the shapes, thereby giving my drawing depth.

“In addition to the traditional colours, the glitter and metallic colours let me highlight more particularly the important elements in the drawing. ”

Finally, what’s your favourite colour?

Generally I prefer green, or greens to be more precise and the model I use the most is the 0.7mm. A classic!
