Berthet One - Comic strips, society & a sharp eye
How would you describe your work?
JI am an author of comic strips, what you see in my work is my vision of society, treated with humour and derision. Therefore this changes all the time with my view, desires, choices, etc.
What about your inspirations?
In the beginning it was the Club Dorothée programme on TV that I watched when I was small. On that show was Cabu, the comic strip artist who did caricatures of the hosts live, I loved that. Today, what inspires me is what I see and look at.
You use the Uni Pin Brush tip, why do you like it?
As it's a fairly recent model, I’ve less experience with it. What I liked straight away is that you can go from very thick to extremely thin, like a real pen nib. I find this gives a lot of dynamism to my drawing.
“From very thick to extremely thin, like a real pen nib. ”
What for you is its optimum use?
The Brush glides perfectly on paper. I love that. It reminds me of when I was a kid, brand new trainers were trainers “that ran fast”!
