Personalise a mug with Uni Paint markers for the perfect gift
Have you thought of gift ideas for all of your loved ones this year? Why not an everyday object, personalised by you? The mug is undoubtedly one of the frequently gifted everyday item. To make it unique, you can't beat customising it with the help of Uni Paint oil markers. Of course it will be a permanent result, but not to worry, we’re here to guide you in this creation step by step. All the steps are below!
Tutorial level: Beginner / Advanced / Expert
For this tutorial, you will need:
- A white or solid colour mug
- Permanent Uni Paint markers (2.2-2.8mm tips in silver and dark green)
- A pattern to copy (our “Be Happy” template can be downloaded here)
1st step: the materials
A mug? Check
A pattern? Check
Uni Paint oil markers? Check.
Perfect for any type of DIY, they dry with lightening speed and contain permanent pigments, which will resist water and high temperatures.
As a precaution, do not customise the upper part of the mug to avoid contact with the mouth.
In order to personalise your mug under the best conditions, clean it using a cloth before starting.
2nd step: the Lettering
Then, start by properly shaking the Uni Paint marker to mix the paint the press on the tip to initiate the marker. Are you ready? Let’s get started!
You can throw yourself into reproducing your pattern, starting with the little mantra. Take your time for each of the letters.
3rd step: the decorative patterns
Once your quote or message is written, you can decorate. Here we’ve chosen to add floral motifs, on both sides of the mantra, by tracing some petals with the help of the dark green Uni Paint marker.
And what about you, what motifs would you like to add?
4th step: A unique mug
Your mug is now unique and ready to offer someone! One thing’s for sure, the recipient won't fail to be touched by this kind thought. A handmade present always makes someone happy!
With the Uni Paint permanent markers, you can of course customise several different items and materials, inside and outside.
