Tarwane - Letters, sketches and balance

How would you describe your work?

I am a lettering artist who enjoys handicraft in particular. And even though I sometimes have to work on a computer, I always go back to paper naturally. I’d qualify my style as 'old-school', and I like solid colour planes.

You use the PORTE-MINES Premium mechanical pencil, what do you like most when you use it?

I really like the metal end as it offers perfect balance in the hand. It also has a grip so your fingers don’t slip. Compared to ordinary mechanical pencils, the Premium is a joy to use.

What do you use it for most days?

I use it for all my research and sketches.

When is it at its best?

Once again, for the sketching part, it’s perfect for me, I was immediately comfortable with it because of its balance and the weight of the metal end.

Which one do you mainly use?

Depending on the projects I use the 0.5mm or the 0.7mm, I find them both complementary and in general a good sketch is equal to good final artwork.
