Give a ski helmet an Old School look with Uni Paint markers
We love the winter sports season! Don't you? To shine on the slopes, kitted out with your skis or your snowboard, all while getting about safely, in this tutorial we’ll show you how to customise your helmet, with the help of Uni Paint permanent oil markers. Off we go, personalising at full speed!
Tutorial level: Beginner / Advanced / Expert
For this tutorial, you will need:
- A block colour helmet
- Uni Paint permanent oil markers (2.2-2.8mm)
- downloadable PDF with old school drawings
1st step: The materials
Grab your helmet and do what you want! Blue, green, yellow, pink, red... The more colourful the better!
Thanks to their colour-fast pigments, the opaque or silky colours, depending on your choice, will maintain their full coverage despite the cold and the water. True champions of outdoor DIY!
2nd step: Patterns on all sides!
First of all, choose a colour (for us it’ll be blue) and trace the edges of your patterns all over your helmet.
For an old school style, here are a few ideas: pretty flowers, eyes, diamonds, hearts, birds, clouds... We’ve prepared some examples in this downloadable PDF.
3rd step: Details to complete
To bring life and movement to your creation, add details between your drawings. For example, stars, small patterns which won't be coloured in later.
This step will give a uniform effect to your creation!
4th step: Intense filling in!
Last step: colour after colour, let your imagination guide you and start filling in your patterns. As the Uni Paint markers dry very quickly, you won't be bothered by the previously drawn edges, no risk of errors.
Final result!!
And there you have it, your Old School inspired helmet is ready! We’re convinced that everyone on the slopes will love it this winter!
